“¿A qué vamos a jugar hijito?”.
mom, buy me a bike
A boy told his mom: “Mom, buy me a bicycle.” The mom responded, “No. We don’t have the money. Go outside to play.”
The boy came back a few minutes later and said, “Mom, buy be a bicycle.” His mom replied, “Didn’t you hear me? We don’t have the money. Now go play outside.” For the third time the little boy comes in and says, “Come on mom, buy me a bike.” His mom gets upset and says, “Listen, we don’t have the money. It hurts me that I can’t buy it for you, now go play outside.”
The little boy goes outside, and little later comes back. When he gets to the door, he stops and is about to say something when his mom says,” I told you to go outside. I can’t buy you a bicycle.” The little boy responds, “No, mom, I wanted to ask you to play with me.”
His mom thinks to herself, “Well, if I can’t buy him a bike, I can at least play with him.” “What do you want to do?” “How about playing house? You are the mom and I am the dad.” “Okay, son.”
“Now let’s go to the bedroom” the little boy says. Once in the bedroom, the little boy says, “Now put on your pajamas, and I will put mine on. The woman a little nervously puts on her nightgown and her son his pajamas. “Now”- says the little boy- “let’s lay down in bed.” The woman worriedly lays down thinking, “It’s just a game.” The little boy puts his arm under the woman’s neck and hugs her and says, “My love, when are we going to buy that bike for our son?”
This, my friend, is a story of tenacity and perseverance. You can be like this boy that persevered, and did not give up. After seeing his tenacity, she bought him that bike even when she had told him that she didn’t have the money. It is not that we do not have the money to obtain what we want in this life, we only need to persevere. Persevere and you will have success. Remember to persevere starting today, because Today is your best day, and tomorrow will be even better.
